Apple on Tuesday, amidst all the speculation, unveiled several surprises for its users and the list includes a new iPad with 9.7-inch display.

Apple has updated its 9.7-inch iPad with a brighter Retina display, 64 bit A9 chip and 10 hours of battery life on Wi-fi. There is also a new Apple SIM feature which the company claims “makes it even easier to connect to wireless data plans from the device” in more than 140 countries. However, Apple hasn’t added OIS or brought the Live Photos feature to the new iPad for now.

Starting at Rs 28,900 for 32GB with Wi-fi model, the new iPad comes in silver, gold and space grey and will be available in India from April.  The 32GB Wi-fi + Cellular model is priced at Rs 39,900.

“iPad is the world’s most popular tablet. Customers love the large, 9.7-inch display for everything from watching TV and movies, to surfing the web, making FaceTime calls, and enjoying photos, and now it is even more affordable,” Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing said announcing the new iPad.

Apple has also doubled the storage inside last year’s iPhone SE, bringing out the new 32GB and 128GB upgrades of 16GB and 64GB models, respectively.

Last but not the least; Apple has also introduced a new colour option – red — for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The new special edition of the iPhone 7(and iPhone 7 Plus) has been launched in partnership with RED and will start at Rs 82,000.
