Wearing bindi and chooda (stack of bangles) with western clothes

Ever spotted a newly married girl in India, she’ll either sport a bindi on her forehead and dab of vermilion (sindoor) in her hair partition. They would confidently wear it with western clothing as well, and also end up looking beautiful. Another interesting trend is to wear red choodas (especially north Indian brides) with denims, skirts, dresses as well as shorts.

Shrugs and jackets to cover up sleeveless clothes
Apart from our love to show a bit of skin here and there, sleeveless clothes have a special place in our heart. However Indian women have a special style of wearing sleeveless clothing. Any colour or rule of shrug off used to cover up the arms- just in case the top is to revealing, or your feeling cold or to the hands are looking to meaty. However, a common reason among women wearing shrugs with sleeveless clothes is to cover unwaxed underarms, isn’t it silly?

Sports shoes or ballerinas with salwar kameez
Just try waking up early one morning and hit some of the favourite jogging tracks in your area. You would find a huge number of women (especially the older ones) wearing sports shoes with salwar kameez or kurtas and churidaars and brisk walking. This is the most common style statement in the city.

Saree with overcoat
While actress Sonam Kapoor spotted a long coat with her saree on the Cannes red carpet last year, several women in India have already worn out many times before her. Especially in the winters, places like Delhi and Kolkata see most worn flaunting this look with extreme style and confidence. And guess what it looks fab when carried off with finesse.
